Formation and Morphological Transition of Diversified Eutectic Structures in Ag-Based Brazing Filler Metals with Sn Addition

Eutectic structures in Ag-based brazing filler metals play an important role improving the properties of alloys and brazed joints. The typical microstructures morphological evolution Ag-Cu eutectic solidified at various cooling rates with addition different Sn contents were investigated. formation mechanisms anomalous structure (AES) transition from lamellar (LES) to AES elucidated. a slow rate low content consisted full AES, which was attributed remelting LES during recalescence. Increasing promoted developed Ag dendrite, dendrite branches, large dimensions. rapidly high ascribed decomposition Ag-rich skeleton growth Cu-rich between ternary arms.
